Huge thanks to Megan Bannen, NetGalley, and the publisher for providing me with a digital ARC to read and review!

About the Book
In "The Undermining of Twyla and Frank," the second installment of The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy series, we dive deeper into the fascinating world introduced in the first book. This time, we follow Tanrian Marshals Twyla Banneker, a widowed middle-aged woman, and her partner and best friend, Frank Ellis. Their adventure kicks off when they discover a glitter-covered corpse next to a dragon-sized footprint, leading them to team up with Dr. Quill Vanderlinden—a charming scientist with a keen interest in both Twyla and the dragons they are investigating.
My Thoughts
Megan Bannen’s writing is witty and engaging, masterfully blending humor and suspense. Twyla and Frank’s dynamic is the heart of the story. Twyla, a relatable protagonist balancing her roles as a mother and a marshal, is inspiring as she navigates her adventures and self-discovery. Frank, the quintessential loyal and occasionally grumpy best friend, adds depth and charm to the narrative.
I fell in love with these characters, especially Twyla, who shows that adventure and self-discovery are ageless pursuits. This book captivated me even more than the first one. It’s a perfect read for anyone who enjoys a mix of mystery, fantasy, and humor, all wrapped up with heartwarming and lovable characters.
I highly recommend "The Undermining of Twyla and Frank" to anyone looking for a delightful and adventurous read!
